Volunteers in Aurangabad are raising $400 for a sensory garden for children with autism at the Sycamore vacant lot.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 572 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $400 goes:
• Materials: $260
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
• Tools hire and delivery: $45
