Safety center
Most people here are kind and honest. These tools are here so you never have to just hope.
Trust checklist
Every post and profile shows what we could confirm: email, photo, government ID, address, organization, background check, how long they have been a member, and whether they share updates.
Verify yourself
Add a photo, ID or an optional background-check report. Badges help your post and make helpers and donors more comfortable.
Block anyone
Block a helper or commenter from your posts with one click. They cannot offer, comment or message you again.
Report in two clicks
Every post, comment and profile has a Report button. Enough reports pause a post automatically while we look.
You decide who sees your contact details
Nobody gets your email or phone until you accept their offer of help.
Money stays on the site
Gifts are paid securely by card or wallet. We hold new gifts for a safety window before they are paid out, and we review unusual patterns.
If you are offering your time, labor, a room or rides
- Offers to host someone or give rides need a verified photo, ID or background check first. Everything else is open to any member with a confirmed email.
- Read the whole post and the questions and answers. Ask the owner anything before you offer.
- Meet in a public place first. Bring a friend for the first visit if you can.
- Never go somewhere that feels wrong. You can say no at any point.
- Do not give out your home address until you are comfortable.
- Do not send money, gift cards or personal documents to someone you only just met.
Share my plan with someone I trust
Hi, I'm helping someone I found on HelpBLESS. Who: [name] Where: [address or place] When: [date and time] I'll message you by: [time] Their page: [link] If you don't hear from me, please call me.
If you are asking for help
- Check the badges and trust checklist of everyone who offers. You do not have to accept any offer.
- You only share contact details by accepting an offer. If you accept, we email both of you a safety checklist.
- Meet in a public place first. Tell someone where you are and who you are meeting.
- Block and report anyone who pressures you, asks for money, or makes you uneasy.
- Posts that involve a child must be posted by a parent or guardian. Use only first names and no school or home details.
If you are giving money
- Ask questions in the comments before you give. Owners are expected to answer.
- Look for updates and a history of honest answers.
- Never pay outside HelpBLESS, even if the owner or a stranger says it is faster.
- Remember that all payments are final. Only give what you are comfortable giving.
- If your card was used without your permission, contact your bank at once.
How we protect the community
- Email confirmation, human review of every post and automatic scam checks.
- Held payouts and extra checks when something looks unusual: many gifts in minutes, the same network giving repeatedly, gifts between the same two people, gifts to brand new accounts.
- ID verification before larger payouts, and a tax form for people who receive more than a small amount.
- A blocklist for known bad actors, and country restrictions where the law requires.
- We keep records so we can help authorities when the law asks us to.
Report a problem
