A boost puts a need in front of more people for a few days. It is the fastest way to help someone beyond giving yourself, and the easiest way to get your own post seen.

What a boost does

Boosted pages are shown first, and always labelled.

  • First on the home page
    In the “Boosted by supporters” row, seen by everyone who visits HelpBLESS.
  • Top of matching searches
    Above the results when people browse by country, kind of help or cause that fits the need.
  • Clearly marked
    A “Boosted” label on the card, so givers always know it was promoted.

How to boost

  1. Open the need

    Find it in Browse needs, or open your own post from your dashboard.

  2. Choose “Boost this need”

    It is under the donate box. Owners find it on the Promote page of their post.

  3. Pay securely

    Card or wallet through Stripe. You get a receipt by email, and the owner is told someone boosted their page.

  4. It goes live straight away

    Boosts stack: buy another and it starts when the current one ends.

Our promises

  • Only reviewed, live needs
    You cannot boost a post that is paused, stopped, in review or rejected. If a boosted post is taken down, it leaves the Boosted spots at once.
  • Fair rotation
    When more needs are boosted than there are spots, they take turns, so everyone who paid is seen.
A boost is not a gift
The price is a fee to HelpBLESS for promotion. It is not paid to the person and is not tax-deductible. To help them with money, give through the donate box.

Questions

Who can boost?
Anyone, with or without an account: the owner, a friend, a donor, a local business.
Does a boost raise money by itself?
No. It shows the need to more people. It works best with a clear story, a photo and regular updates.
Can I get a refund?
Boosts start immediately and are non-refundable. If we remove a post for breaking the rules, its boost ends and is not refunded.
Can I boost a people profile?
Yes. Open the profile and choose “Boost this profile”. It shows first in “Say thank you to someone” on the home page.
Does the owner pay any extra fee?
No. The 5% platform fee on donations stays the same whether a page is boosted or not.
