Refund Policy

The short version

• Donations are gifts. Once a donation is made it cannot be taken back.
• Post fees pay for review and publishing. Once you pay, the fee is not returned, even if your post is declined, edited, paused, stopped or removed.
• Optional tips to HelpBLESS are not refundable either.
• We do not give refunds for mistakes, changes of mind, wrong amounts, duplicate payments, or because a need was not met.

Donations

When you give on HelpBLESS you are giving a gift to a person or group, not buying a product or service. The money goes (less our platform fee and the payment processor's fee) to the person who posted. We cannot promise how it will be used, whether the goal will be reached, or what happens next.

Before you give, please read the whole post, look at the badges, read the questions and answers, and ask your own question in the comments. You do not have to donate to ask a question. Please only give what you are comfortable giving without getting it back.

This applies whether the post is fully funded, partly funded or not funded, and whether it is later paused, stopped, edited or removed.

Post fees

If you pay a fee to publish a post, it covers the work of reviewing your post and keeping it live with no expiry date. It is not refundable if the post is declined, if you change your mind, if you delete or stop the post, or if the post is removed for breaking our rules.

Payment mistakes

Check the amount before you confirm payment. We cannot reverse a payment made in the wrong amount or made twice. If you think you were charged by a technical error on our side, email support@helpbless.com with the date and the last four digits of your card and we will look into it. This is a technical review; it does not create a right to a refund.

Fraud and misuse

If you believe a post is a scam, please use the Report button on the post. We take reports seriously: we may remove the post, hold unpaid funds, close accounts and, where it is right to do so, pass details to the authorities. Reporting does not create a right to a refund, and we do not promise one.

If your card was used without your permission, contact your card issuer straight away. That is a matter between you and your bank.

Chargebacks and disputes

Please do not ask your bank to reverse a payment you chose to make here. If a dispute is filed, we will give the payment processor the evidence of your payment and our terms. Where a donation is reversed by a bank, the amount can be recovered from the balance of the person who posted, and we may close the account of the person who filed a dispute for a valid payment.

Legal rights

Nothing here removes any right you have under law that cannot be removed by agreement. If the law of the country you live in gives you a right to cancel or to a refund that cannot be waived, that right still applies.
