Trust & safety
Most people asking for help are genuine. We make life hard for the few who aren't.
How we keep HelpBLESS safe
- Email verification first. You cannot post, comment, ask questions or offer help until your email is confirmed. Disposable email services are blocked.
- Human review. Every post is read by a moderator before it appears. Posts are risk-scored for scam patterns: off-platform payment requests, copied stories, contact details in text, suspicious links and more.
- Verification badges. Members can add a photo, government ID (passport, driver licence, national ID), address or organization verification. Documents are stored privately and seen only by trained reviewers; the public sees only the badge.
- Payment protection. Payments are processed by Stripe with fraud screening. Funds are held for a safety window before payout, and held longer if a post is reported or disputed.
- Community reports. Verified members can report any post, comment or profile. Enough reports automatically pull a post back to review.
- Rate limits & bot defense. Sign-ups, posts, comments and donations are rate-limited and checked for bots.
- No off-site contact. Comments cannot contain phone numbers, emails, or payment handles. Contact details are exchanged only after an owner accepts an offer of help.
Tips for donors
- Read the story and the questions already asked. Ask your own - owners are expected to answer.
- Look for badges, updates and a history of honest answers.
- Never send money by wire, gift card, crypto or any app outside HelpBLESS. If someone asks, report them.
Report a concern
Use the Report button on any post, or email support@helpbless.com. We act on reports quickly and may remove posts, hold funds and close accounts. Please note that all payments are final.
