Community Guidelines

Be honest, be kind and keep everyone safe.

Last updated: October 1, 2026

If you are asking for help

  • Tell the truth. Say what happened, what you need, who it is for and how the help will be used.
  • Use your own words and your own photos. Do not copy someone else's story.
  • Ask for what you actually need. If you raise more than you needed, say how the rest will be used.
  • Answer questions politely and post updates, especially how money was used.
  • Keep phone numbers, emails, social handles and payment handles out of your post. Use HelpBLESS to receive help.
  • Consider adding a photo or ID badge. It helps people trust you.

If you are giving help

  • Read the full post and ask questions before you give.
  • Look for badges and updates, but remember a badge is not a guarantee.
  • Never send money outside HelpBLESS, even if someone asks nicely or says it is urgent.
  • For in-person help, meet in public first, bring a friend and tell someone where you are.
  • Give what you are comfortable giving. All payments are final.

Not allowed

  • Fake, exaggerated or stolen stories, photos or documents.
  • Asking for money, gift cards, crypto or transfers outside the site.
  • Posts that fund violence, hate, weapons, illegal drugs, gambling, adult content, or anything illegal.
  • Harassment, threats, discrimination or shaming of people who ask for help.
  • Spam, repeated copies of the same post, fake accounts or bots.
  • Using someone else's card or running test payments.
  • Asking for help for someone without their permission.
