Signing up and posting

  • Sign up with an email address. Disposable email services are not accepted.
  • Pick your country when you sign up. You can target a post at any country, state or province, city, or ZIP / postal code, or at the whole world.
  • Local needs (rides, labor, housing) work best when aimed at a city or postal code. Remote help (mentoring, translation, advice) works well as worldwide.

Giving from your country

  • Gifts are charged in US dollars. Your bank converts from your own currency and may add a foreign-exchange fee.
  • Card payments from outside the U.S. cost slightly more to process. That fee comes out of the gift, not your pocket.
  • Most major cards and wallets work. Some banks block international online payments by default. If your card is declined, call your bank or try another card.

Receiving money

Every Sunday, by PayPal or bank transfer.

  • PayPal is available in most countries and territories. Check that your PayPal account can receive USD in your country.
  • Bank transfer works wherever international wire transfers work. You will need the account holder name, bank name, account number or IBAN, and SWIFT/BIC.
  • Minimum payout is $100. Balances below that roll over.
  • People outside the U.S. complete Form W-8BEN once they receive more than $600 in a year.

Countries we cannot pay

Because of international sanctions and the rules our payment partners must follow.

We cannot send money to recipients in: ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡บ Cuba, ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ท Iran, ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ต KP, ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡พ Syria. People in these places can still ask for non-money help (time, skills, advice, goods) and can browse. This list may change as laws change.

We also screen against known bad actors and may hold or refuse a payout where the law requires it.
