A family from a town in the north needs lodging in Amsterdam while a child is treated.

My daughter Mirjam has been accepted for treatment at Amsterdam Children's Hospital in Amsterdam, starting on Monday in March. We live 225 km away in a town in the north, and hotel costs would use up what we have set aside for the treatment itself. We're looking for a room, granny flat or short-term rental within about 30 minutes of the hospital, for 6 weeks. Two of us would stay: Mirjam and me. We can contribute $105 a week and cook for the household if you'd like. Mirjam will have some immune precautions, so a clean, smoke-free place would be ideal. A kitchen is a bonus. Thank you. Glad we found this place.

        • So sorry you're going through this, Saar. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.

          • Best of luck. Your post was clear and honest. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Blessings.

            • Praying for you. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best.

              • Hope it all works out. Your post was clear and honest. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. All the best.
