Rebuilding after the earthquake: the Hillcrest neighborhood needs your help
After the earthquake, families in the Hillcrest neighborhood need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The earthquake hit the Hillcrest neighborhood on 27 August. My home was one of 47 damaged, and 4 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Food parcels for displaced families: $175
• Tools and labor for repairs: $195
• Roofing sheets and timber: $590
• Clean water and purification supplies: $90
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Thinking of you and your family, Iqra. It takes guts to ask. Well done. God bless.
