A braille note-taker would give Michael independence - we're $1,000 away.

Michael lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at the Tema Mobility Clinic has assessed him and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,000. His current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 7 weeks. With the right equipment Michael could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $1,000 goes: • braille note-taker: $940 • Delivery and set-up: $15 • First-year servicing plan: $45 Thanks for being kind about this. - George

  • good luck, George. This could happen to any of us. I went through something like this 5 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings.
