Feed 353 families each week at the Thursday Table in Duisburg
The the Thursday Table pantry in Duisburg is running low just as demand rises; $1,200 will stock it for 6 weeks.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Wednesday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 27 families, and now we feed 353 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 57% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 16 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Duisburg market and keep every receipt.
Each $50 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $650
• Baby formula and diapers: $390
• Refrigeration and electricity: $160

You're not alone, Lisa. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
stay strong, Lisa. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I hope January is when things finally get easier. Take care.
