Volunteers needed to fix a leaking roof for Ahmed in Cairo
Could you spare three weekday mornings to help repair a leaking roof in Cairo?
🇪🇬 Cairo, Cairo, Egypt200 views
I'm a single mother of three living in Cairo. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the living room is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $640, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the corrugated iron sheets and timber. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for a small crew who can help over three weekday mornings.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is to be comfortable with heights or willing to help from the ground. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

You're not alone, Ahmed. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Blessings.
So sorry you're going through this, Ahmed. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Blessings.
Hope it all works out. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Put this on a community board in São Paulo this morning. Thinking of Cairo.
