Adrian is one term away from finishing a degree in social work but is blocked from enrolling by an unpaid balance of $4,650.

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a degree in social work at San Antonio Community College, and I'm one term away from graduating. I have worked as a tutor to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $4,650.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.9 average, and my department head has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the San Antonio Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $4,650 goes:
• Exam and lab fees: $210
• Outstanding tuition balance: $1,300
• Final term tuition: $3,140

Best of luck. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. I have a 7 year old who wants to send good wishes too
hang in there, Adrian. Your post was clear and honest. Take care.
Any update on how things are going in San Antonio?
So sorry you're going through this. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Take care.
