Two weekends of roof repair for Leila, a home-care aide in Cairns
The roof at Leila's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.

I'm a home-care aide living in Cairns. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the kids' bedroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $3,850, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for 4-6 people who can help over three weekday mornings.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Thanks for being kind about this.

Take care, Leila. This could happen to any of us. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double!
sending love, Leila. Hope you get there. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like
