A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Alicante

We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a youth football pitch - we need $2,600 for materials.

Alicante

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus community hall, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,600. It will serve about 417 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $2,600 goes: • Materials: $2,050 • Permits and inspections: $210 • Safety equipment and signage: $150 • Tools hire and delivery: $190 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
