A youth football pitch for Sycamore Park: help our neighbors in Pretoria
Volunteers in Pretoria are raising $850 for a youth football pitch at Sycamore Park.
🇿🇦 South Africa975 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Sycamore Park, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $850.
It will serve about 400 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $850 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $75
• Safety equipment and signage: $90
• Materials: $685
Thanks for reading all this.
