The Unity vacant lot needs a skate park - Faruk's neighborhood project
A community-led a skate park at the Unity vacant lot that will serve 113 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $600.
It will serve about 113 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $600 goes:
• Materials: $460
• Permits and inspections: $60
• Safety equipment and signage: $25
• Tools hire and delivery: $55
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Thinking of you, Faruk. Shared this with my family. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings.
Is there anything that isn't money that would help Faruk?
Thank you. If you're in Salem I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Let me know if you want more detail.
Sending strength. Shared it with a few friends. Greetings from Manchester.
Keep going, Faruk. Hope this works out for you. I'm in construction myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Take care.

Wishing you peace, Faruk. Hope you get there. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
