I make my living with my tuk-tuk. 6 weeks ago the fuel pump failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $100. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my family of five. Before the breakdown I worked ten hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal. Where the $100 goes: • Towing and inspection: $20 • Labor charges: $40 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $40 Thanks for reading all this.

Updates from Fernando

  1. Quick update: $55 raised so far (55%). I met with the mechanic and confirmed the amounts. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Wanted to say thank you properly. 55% funded and we've started the first stage.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($10 in total) I made the first payment toward road tax and insurance renewal. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Looking forward to the next update. Thinking of Makati.

    • Hang in there. Hope you make a strong comeback. Wish I lived closer to Jakarta Selatan so I could bring a meal.

      • Good luck, Fernando. Hope you get there. After 23 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Makati
