Akello's final semester of a nursing degree in Mombasa
Akello has worked and saved for three years to study a nursing degree; a $750 gap now stands between her and graduation.

Akello is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a nursing degree at Mombasa Polytechnic, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $750.
The registrar has said Akello can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Akello has a distinction average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Akello would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Akello isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
