Do-hyun lives with a rare neuromuscular condition. The occupational therapist at the Incheon Mobility Clinic has assessed him and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $5,300.
His current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment Do-hyun could speak with the people around him. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
