Tenant-rights advice for Todd in Los Angeles: a short consultation
A brief consultation with a housing advisor would help Todd understand their rights.

My landlord in Los Angeles has given me an order to leave for 'renovations'. I've read what I can online, but the rules are confusing and different sources contradict each other.
I'm hoping that someone with experience in housing or tenant rights in California could spare 20-30 minutes to explain the process, the deadlines and the documents I should collect.
I have my lease, all communications and photos organized. I'm happy to share them privately. I can't pay for a lawyer, so any guidance on free services in California would also be appreciated.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

stay strong, Todd. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Ciudad de México.
Stay strong. Hope this works out for you. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
