Dusit was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in May. The surgeon at Bangkok University Hospital recommended valve repair surgery, and He is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,900, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $1,750 short. my son has been in and out of Bangkok University Hospital since May. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without valve repair surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,900 is more than we can find. While we wait, Dusit struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Dusit won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $1,750 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $830 • Hospital stay (4 nights): $490 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $105 • Post-operative medication: $100 • Physiotherapy sessions: $165 • Travel and lodging for the family: $60 Thank you for reading my story.
