Funmilayo has run a flower stall for four years; a storm that collapsed the roof destroyed the equipment, and $250 will put it back on its feet.

For four years I have run a flower stall in Lagos. In June, a storm that collapsed the roof took display cabinets and a cooler. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Wednesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 4 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $250 goes: • Shop repairs and licensing: $65 • Working capital for the first month: $85 • Initial stock: seasonal flowers: $100 Thanks for reading all this.

Keep going. Shared it with a few friends. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care.

stay strong. I hope things turn around soon. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Blessings.

        • Stay strong, Funmilayo. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I hope August is when things finally get easier. Love from Kota

          • Best of luck, Funmilayo. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Thinking of Lagos.
