Stop the eviction: 2 months of rent for Lawrence's family in Halifax
After a long illness, Lawrence is 2 months behind on rent and has a final eviction notice from the landlord.

After a car accident that kept me from work for 6 weeks, Lawrence fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a final eviction notice was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $2,500.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, the family must leave.
There are 3 children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Lawrence has started working extra hours at a market stall, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $2,500 goes:
• Rent arrears (2 months): $1,600
• Late fees and court costs: $190
• Utilities in arrears: $110
• First month of rent as a buffer: $600
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
