Moving day volunteers: Renata's family relocating in Madrid

Moving day on Monday: we need four volunteers and ideally a van.

After the rent increase, I found a safe, affordable apartment in Madrid, and the lease starts on Monday. I have a teenager and a toddler, a few pieces of furniture and no money for movers. I'm hoping for four volunteers for about four hours. If you have a van or pickup, that would help enormously - I'll cover fuel. The old place is on the third floor with no elevator and the new place has just one flight of stairs. We'll do it in two trips. Lunch and cold drinks are on me. I know this is a lot to ask of strangers. I'd be happy to share references from my landlord and my employer. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

  • keep going. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. God bless.

    • Keep going. Hope you get there. I have a 12 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Take care.

        • Wishing you the best. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. We're a small family in Aurangabad but we're thinking of you. Blessings

          • Praying for you, Renata. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Thinking of Madrid.
