Every year the Seniors' Tea Afternoon brings together 501 neighbors in Sacramento. I help organize it with 10 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down. We need people for set-up, serving, translation and clean-up. Shifts are two to three hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers. It's a long-standing tradition, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day. If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you. You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

  • More neighborhoods should do this. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out. Greetings from Manchester

    • Sending love. Hope you get there. After 27 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings!

Hope it all works out. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Thinking of Sacramento.

        • So sorry you're going through this. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best.
