Julián was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in September. The oncology team at San Diego Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in December. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Julián is 48, worked as a bakery worker until September, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Diego Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $9,400 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $1,250 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $970 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,750 • Transport to San Diego Regional Medical Center: $430 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Rocío
