Benjamin was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in August. The surgeon at Santa Rosa Community Hospital recommended gallbladder removal, and He is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,800, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $1,400 short. my husband has been in and out of Santa Rosa Community Hospital since August. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,800 is more than we can find. While we wait, Benjamin struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
