The Neighbors' Pantry pantry in Lagos is running low just as demand rises; $400 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Wednesday from the back of a community center. We started with 8 families, and now we feed 177 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 42% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Lagos market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $400 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $30
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $200
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $170
