A repair café workshop for the Cedar health centre yard: help our neighbors in İzmir

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $290, and the remaining cost is $750. It will serve about 445 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $750 goes: • Materials: $560 • Permits and inspections: $75 • Safety equipment and signage: $115 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Yasemin
