Don't let Ian's family go through summer without gas

A disconnection notice for gas arrived and Ian needs $700 before August.

The gas account is 4 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on August unless I pay $700. I have never been late before a reduction in hours. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $135 first, which I don't have. I live with an elderly mother, and going through summer without gas isn't safe. We can't cook, keep medicine cold or heat the home. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. Every dollar goes to the account in Ian's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates. Where the $700 goes: • Heating arrears: $470 • Reconnection and late fees: $55 • Down payment on a payment plan: $175 Thank you for reading my story.

  • Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Ottawa.
