Mapo

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Union bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $2,400. It will serve about 427 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $2,400 goes: • Materials: $1,600 • Permits and inspections: $230 • Safety equipment and signage: $340 • Tools hire and delivery: $230 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Jae-won
