Michelle can't leave home - help build a ramp
Michelle uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.
🇬🇧 London, England, United Kingdom864 views
Michelle has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Michelle can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Michelle's family will cook lunch for the team.
I hope life is good to you.

good luck, Liam. Get well soon. I hope May is when things finally get easier. Love from Bhopal.
Sending good thoughts, Liam. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I went through something like this 14 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best.
Keep going, Liam. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Love from London.

Hope things get better soon. This could happen to any of us. I'm in accounting myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
