Ishrat has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Ishrat can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Ishrat's family will cook lunch for the team. Glad we found this place.

  • Rooting for you, Runa. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings

    • Praying for you. Shared it with a few friends. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. God bless.

      • take care, Runa. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.

        • Sending good thoughts. This could happen to any of us. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Take care.

          • Praying for you. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Thinking of Dhaka.

            • Thinking of you, Runa. Hope you get there. We're a small family in Taguig but we're thinking of you. Take care.

              • Wishing you peace, Runa. Hope the doctors have good news. All the best.

                • I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. All the best
