I'm caring for my mother, who's 94. After the death of her spouse Chitra can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Chitra desperately wants to stay at home. I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer. Chitra worked all of her life as a factory worker, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference. The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices. Where the $500 goes: • Part-time carer (eight months): $320 • Medication and prescriptions: $80 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $45 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $55 Thank you so much. - Naveen

  • You're not alone, Naveen. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out. Greetings from Dallas.

    • Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. After 13 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
