A skate park: a volunteer-led effort in Ikeja
A community-led a skate park at the Unity vacant lot that will serve 325 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 325 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.

• Tools hire and delivery: $90

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Blessing
It's all in the list in the story. permits and inspections is the big one at $20, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Happy to explain more.
