We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a youth football pitch - we need $300 for materials.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Freedom Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $165, and the remaining cost is $300. It will serve about 254 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $300 goes: • Materials: $200 • Permits and inspections: $15 • Safety equipment and signage: $35 • Tools hire and delivery: $50 Glad we found this place. - Daniel
