My daughter Kumiko has been accepted for treatment at Kobe University Hospital in Kobe, starting on Tuesday in May. We live 232 km away in a town in the north, and hotel costs would use up what we have set aside for the treatment itself. We're looking for a room, granny flat or short-term rental within about 30 minutes of the hospital, for 4 weeks. Two of us would stay: Kumiko and me. We can contribute $125 a week and cook for the household if you'd like. Kumiko will have some immune precautions, so a clean, smoke-free place would be ideal. A kitchen is a bonus. Thank you. Thank you for reading my story.

  • everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I'm in teaching myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Thinking of Kobe.

Thanks for sharing this. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. All the best.

      • Keep going. Hope you get there. After 29 years in accounting I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from San Jose.
