Beata's spinal decompression surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill
After severe cataracts in both eyes, Beata was cleared for spinal decompression surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Beata was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in April. The surgeon at Birmingham Regional Medical Center recommended spinal decompression surgery, and She is scheduled for July. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $8,500, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $5,100 short.
my mother has been in and out of Birmingham Regional Medical Center since April. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without spinal decompression surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $8,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Beata struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Beata won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
