A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Tema

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Pioneer bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $100. It will serve about 530 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $100 goes: • Permits and inspections: $45 • Tools hire and delivery: $30 • Safety equipment and signage: $25 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Vincent
