A weekly visit for Kreesan, 82, who lives alone in Johannesburg

I'm writing for my neighbor Kreesan, who's 82. Kreesan lives alone in Johannesburg, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives 852 kilometers away. Kreesan loves local history, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Saturday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
