A licensed roofer to fix a dangerous fault at Maria's home in Oakland

Maria has a leaking gas line, and can't afford a licensed roofer to fix it; a few hours of professional help would make the home safe.

In July an inspector told me that my home has a leaking gas line. It's a safety risk for me and my three children. The landlord has refused to act, and quotes of $930 are beyond us. I'm looking for a licensed roofer who may be able to donate a few hours or do the repair at cost. I can cover the parts, which I estimate at $135. The job should take about four hours. I'll make sure someone is home and will provide refreshments. I can share the inspector's written report on request. If you're a roofer and can help, or know a program that assists with this sort of repair, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you so much.

  • Sending strength, Maria. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. We're a small family in Atlanta but we're thinking of you.

        • Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Hyderabad

          • Hope it all works out. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. God bless
