Surgery fund for Roberto: a partial thyroidectomy in Madrid
A scheduled a partial thyroidectomy in February is out of reach without help covering $2,900 of the cost.

Roberto was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in December. The surgeon at Madrid Orthopedic Institute recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and He is scheduled for February. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $5,750, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $2,900 short.
my brother has been in and out of Madrid Orthopedic Institute since December. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $5,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Roberto struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Roberto won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
