A weekly ride to the Tallahassee Dialysis Unit for Waylon
Could you drive Waylon to the Tallahassee Dialysis Unit on Thursday? A rota of 5 drivers is forming.
🇺🇸 Tallahassee, Florida, United States747 views
Waylon has been on dialysis for 3 years and until recently drove to the Tallahassee Dialysis Unit alone. After surgery on their hand, Waylon can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week.
We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 11 km each way.
Waylon is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food.
Please say which day works for you in the comments.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

best of luck. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected
Good luck. Wishing Waylon a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Greetings from Austin.
Hope it all works out, Christian. Looking forward to the next update. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Thinking of Tallahassee.
Sending good thoughts, Christian. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
Hope the doctors have good news. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Love from Envigado
