We lost everything in the fire in the market: help Orchard village start over
After the fire in the market, families in Orchard village need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The fire in the market hit Orchard village on 2 September. My home was one of 43 damaged, and 3 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $800 goes:
• Clean water and purification supplies: $95
• Food parcels for displaced families: $175
• Roofing sheets and timber: $530
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Hope things get better soon, Faith. Gave what I could, wish it was more. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Take care
