Two weekends of roof repair for Asher, a widowed grandmother in Fresno
Could you spare a weekend to help repair a leaking roof in Fresno?
🇺🇸 Fresno, California, United States165 views
I'm a widowed grandmother living in Fresno. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the bathroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $4,150, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the corrugated iron sheets and timber. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for anyone handy who can help over a weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Thank you for reading my story.

Take care, Asher. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. I'll check back for the next update. All the best.
You're not alone, Asher. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like

good luck, Asher. I hope things turn around soon. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. All the best.
Wishing you peace. Your post was clear and honest. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Love from Pune.
