Pınar is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a degree in civil engineering at Gaziantep Community College, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,300.
The registrar has said Pınar can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Pınar has a top-ten-percent average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Pınar would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Pınar isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $1,300 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $570
• Final term tuition: $640
• Exam and lab fees: $25
• Textbooks and materials: $65
Thanks for being kind about this.
