Leicester
My family left Sudan 13 months ago after our home was destroyed. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Leicester. We're a family of four and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 3 months of rent, and that support ends in October. I was a nurse in Sudan, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. Funds are managed by the Leicester Welcome Table charity, a registered organization, which pays the landlord and suppliers on the family's behalf. Where the $1,900 goes: • Beds, table and basic furniture: $1,200 • Phone and internet for school and job search: $195 • Winter clothing and school supplies: $505 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Travis

  • wishing you the best, Travis. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Mumbai.

    • shared this with my family. Love from Spokane.

        • thinking of you, Travis. Hope you get there. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Blessings.

          • Hope it all works out. Hope this works out for you. After 28 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care
