The Maple vacant lot needs a playground - Travis's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Winston-Salem are raising $2,650 for a playground at the Maple vacant lot.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Maple vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,650.
It will serve about 88 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,650 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $290
• Permits and inspections: $190
• Materials: $2,170
