Nakuru
My family left Myanmar 12 months ago after the war reached our town. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Nakuru. We're a family of five and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in November. I was a shopkeeper in Myanmar, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. Funds are managed by the Nakuru Refugee Support Network, a registered organization, which pays the landlord and suppliers on the family's behalf. Where the $300 goes: • Beds, table and basic furniture: $135 • Winter clothing and school supplies: $105 • Phone and internet for school and job search: $60 Thank you for reading my story. - Waweru

  2. Small update. $109 so far, I made the first payment toward phone and internet for school and job search.

  3. 10% there. the plan for beds, table and basic furniture is now scheduled. Thank you.
